One of the great support to your truck for towing is an airbag suspension kit, or simply airbags while searching to improve my truck, I ended up in with a lot of brand and some reviews, and the two brands that got my intention are Air Lift and Firestone. Best Airbags for Towing

1. Air Lift 57275 LoadLifter 5000 Series Rear Air Spring Kit Review

The famous AIR LIFT 57275, They come in 4 different Shape the Loadlifter 5000, Loadlifter 5000 Ultimate, Loadlifter 5000 Ultimate plus and Loadlifter 7500 XL, as you notice the capacity of leveling goes from 5000 to 7000 Lbs, comes with roll plates, Nylon airline (stainless steel braided for the 5000 Ultimate), and of course the Air Lift Kit include everything you need for installing the airbags in the vehicle and you won’t need a drill while installing (I love this part), now the question is it going to fit my vehicle, well according to AIRLIFT it fits 2001-2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 & 3500 (RWD & 4WD) pickups, 2001-2010 GMC Sierra 2500 & 3500 (RWD & 4WD) pickups and compatible with 5th-wheel and gooseneck hitches.

In all, the product is excellent, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for some airbags for towing.

2. AIR LIFT 57215 LoadLifter 5000 Series Rear Air Spring Kit

Another AIRLIFT product, we’re still with the 5000 Series but this time is the AIR LIFT 57215 LOADLIFTER 5000, you would be wondering what’s is the difference between the 57275 and the 57215, the answer is that the 57215 is limited to 5000 lbs in the leveling capacity, and they require some drilling in the installation process, so they come with a lower price which is normal (the less sophistication you get, the less money you pay), so for the performance, they’re great as my first choice, offers good weight distribution to all tiers, adjust the height of the vehicle for more safety and better ride while towing, offers better handling in the rough roads,  improve vehicle stability, and comes with a full kit for installation.

Cons:

3. Air Lift 57204 LoadLifter 5000 Air Spring Kit fits 2007-2018 GM 1500 pickups

And my 3rd pick is again AIR LIFT, and yet another 5000 Series this time is the AIR LIFT 57207, why this product is in the 3rd place because it has less” Vehicul adaptation,” it’s compatible with these vehicles: CHEVROLET(SILVERADO 1500), GMC(SIERRA 1500), and it’s perfect for commercial trucks, wreckers, ambulances, construction, and utility trucks, and like the other 5000  airlift series, it comes with a complete installation kit, and it’s easy to install (if you follow the guide), it offers better riding quality, improves stability, and boost the towing performance, a great product that I recommend for all Silverado and GMC truck users.

Cons:

4. Firestone Industrial Products 2582 Ride-Rite Air Spring Kit

The 2582 Ride-Rite from Firestone comes in the 4th place, honestly, it’s a great product, improves the quality of the ride, add more stability to the vehicle and absorbs the road shocks, and it can work for towing, the airbags are easy to install no drilling required, now why are these airbags comes 4th, because they were made to improve steering control and braking effectiveness mainly, they can handle the load of your truck, but for the towing part, Firestone never mentioned theme as “towing performance upgrade,” so if you’re looking for some airbags with some “Not” to big load or tow, these are yours, other than that stick with the AIRLIFT.

Pros:
Cons:

5. Firestone Ride-Rite 2550 Ride-Rite Air Helper Spring Kit

Since I brought the 2582 Ride-Rite to the table, I found that the 2550 Ride-Rite are also worth speaking of, they come last because they fit only some specific vehicles (you can check with if it fits with your car on the tool above the product), again they offer good driving quality, better shock absorption and they’re easy to install, and no drilling is required, and they can be used for towing but not the big loads, it’s a great product from Firestone (one of its most popular product), still, if you’re planning to tow or pull some heavy loads, stick with the AIRLIFT.

Cons:

Air lift vs Firestone

If you notice the main brands on this list are Airlift and Firestone, so to answer which one is the best, I’m going to share a small opinion.

In towing firestone ride rite compared to airlift isn’t that great, I rather stick with AIRLIFT. I feel like airlift tried to fix the problem of “towing, pulling” while offering great ride quality, shock absorption, and safety, which is not the case for Firestone.

Final Words

Airbags are a great upgrade for your actual truck, It might keep you from buying a new one, but don’t ever exceed manufacturer’s recommended Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, no matter what upgrade you add to your car, your first concern is safety so don’t go over the limit, and respect the numbers your read, in the same occasion if you’re looking for more upgrades for a better towing with your truck, I wrote a full article about the Best upgrades you can add to your trucks to improve your towing capacity.
